つくるように壊し、壊すようにつくる
「葬送の作法、あるいはプロジェクトのしまい方」
家の最後に立ち会い、そのユニークさや価値を再定義し、解体しながら制作し、制作しながら解体することを目指すプロジェクト。つくりながら壊し、壊しながらつくる過程を、数回に分けて公開する。
丘の上から繋がる急峻な斜面に残された家を、解体業者さんと一緒に壊しながら、美術作品として新たなかたちを生みだした。そのかたちは解体の技術や知識をベースにしながらも、空間としての美しさを追求している。通常、家を解体するときは、「なるべく早く、安く」と考えることが多いが、このプロジェクトにおいては「ゆっくりと、豊かに」解体していくことを目指した。解体という行為のもつ創造性と可能性を開いてゆく。
第一期工事の様子は2022年11月末〜12月初旬にかけて数日間公開。第二期工事の様子は2023年5月上旬〜9月上旬に公開。その後全解体し、更地にする。

Tearing down as you make, making as you tear down
“Holding a wake, or how to close a project”
Witnessing the end of a house and redefining its uniqueness and value, this project aims to create while tearing down and to tear down while creating. This process is presented to the public in several sessions.
Tearing down a house standing high over a steep slope on the top of the hill, the artist together with a demolition company gave it a new form as a work of art.
This new form is the result of applying the techniques, know how, and aesthetics of demolition, while at the same time pursuing spacial beauty.
Usually, when a house is dismantled, it is done as quickly and inexpensively as possible. However, in this project, the aim was to dismantle the house “slowly and thoroughly,” and in doing so releasing the creative possibilities of the act of demolition.
